About us
Our team of public health inspectors works to prevent and remove hazards to keep public places safe. We offer the following services in schools:
- Consultations and approvals for food services in schools, and routine inspections of permitted food services (e.g., cafeterias, canteens, breakfast programs, and food preparation areas)
- Follow-up support on illness and outbreaks, including guidance on cleaning and disinfecting
- Samples and testing for safe drinking water
- Expert advice on how schools can cope with emergencies, like:
- Loss or interruption of water, heat, or power
- Remediation following flooding or sewage back-ups
- Poor outdoor air quality (e.g., forest fires)
- Information and referrals for students and families needing support with:
